Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Pekin, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a financial institution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conducting routine rounds and remaining highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. This role requires an Armed Guard Card and/or License and reflects Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity with a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a financial services location by following site-specific procedures, access control requirements, and security-related policies, and/or supporting emergency response activities when needed.
  • Carry a firearm in accordance with licensing requirements and post orders, maintaining proper weapon handling, storage, and documentation while on duty.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with management and local law enforcement as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor cameras, entrances, and controlled areas for suspicious behavior, complete thorough incident reports, and communicate timely updates to supervisors and client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years' armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
