Job Description


As a Security Officer - Overnight Patrol Driver in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a leading healthcare location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and badge activity. You will deliver clear communication and customer service while responding to needs across the site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, assist with visitor management and badging processes as assigned, and report concerns according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with on-site personnel and/or public responders when required.
  • Complete routine documentation such as incident reports, activity logs, and shift pass-downs, and communicate security-related observations to the Allied Universal supervisor and/or client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
