As a Security Officer - Part-Time Driver Patrol in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet patients, visitors, and staff with professional customer service, communicate concerns clearly, and support the care environment through teamwork and integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating notifications to appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, corridors, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify maintenance or hazard concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry by checking identification, supporting visitor management processes, and/or directing individuals to appropriate destinations according to site procedures.
  • Complete accurate written reports and logs of patrol activity, incidents, and observations, and communicate timely updates to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
