As a Security Officer Flex Armed Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hospitals and more. You will conduct routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, control access, and respond to alarms and emergencies with calm, professional communication. This role requires Act 235 qualification and offers the chance to deliver reliable service with integrity, teamwork, and an agile, people-first approach.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, contractors, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards to operations.
  • Control access at gates, entrances, and/or loading docks by verifying identification, processing visitor and contractor check-ins, and monitoring vehicle traffic flow.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems and equipment such as radios, cameras, and access control, completing shift logs and reports per site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1 or more years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have Act 235 Qualification Pennsylvania only.
  • A valid firearms permit is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
