Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Associate in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor processing while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws and/or regulations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal personnel and/or public emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identifying and reporting unusual conditions.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant updates to supervisors and/or incoming officers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be comfortable using a computer and/or tablet preferred.
  • Have access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
