Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Patrol in Decatur, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine patrols and mobile rounds, stay highly visible to help to deter incidents, and respond to alarms and access activity as needed. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site teams and visitors, and support a professional environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a chemical and/or petrochemical environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, process alarms, and/or unauthorized activity per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, logging visitors and/or contractors, and directing deliveries according to location procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, communicate with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and support drills and/or operational changes as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
