Job Description


As a Security Guard - Unarmed Roving Patrol in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a financial services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and access control needs as required, document observations, and provide professional customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and vendors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial services location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify authorization as required, and assist with visitor processing and/or badge procedures according to site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and coordination with site contacts and/or public responders when needed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate pertinent updates to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
