Job Description


As a Security Guard - Unarmed Mobile Rounds in Ashburn, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government education location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns with calm professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, athletic fields, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with sign-in and/or badge procedures as required, and report unauthorized persons or suspicious activity to site leadership and/or public authorities per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, medical calls, and/or weather-related events, and communicate updates through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, note maintenance or facility concerns observed during patrols, and support security-related investigations by preserving observations and reporting details accurately.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Having a guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
