Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Rover in Sparks, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a government transportation location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and provide strong customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties, including carrying and maintaining assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws and/or regulations.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, scene assessment, and coordination with site representatives and/or local law enforcement as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, transit-related facilities, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location and shift.
  • Complete detailed reports of daily activities, patrol observations, and incident response actions, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or authorized personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1 or more years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
