Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Perimeter Rounds in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, respond to security-related concerns, and collaborate with teammates and site partners. Pay Rate: $21.63 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy issues.
  • Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify identification and/or authorization as required, and direct individuals to the appropriate location while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, request assistance from appropriate personnel when needed, and document actions taken.
  • Complete routine logs, shift reports, and incident documentation, and communicate security-related observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Baton certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
