Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will conduct routine driving and foot patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and professionalism. You will support access control, observe and report activity, and assist staff and riders with customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and alarms, and coordinate with public agency personnel and law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit platforms, vehicles, parking areas, facilities, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, monitoring entry points, and documenting visitor and/or contractor activity according to post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations, and communicate timely updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A minimum of 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A 40 caliber endorsement is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
