Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control in Chemung, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a healthcare location where you will help manage access control by greeting staff and visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, monitoring alarms and cameras, and conducting routine rounds to help spot and report security-related concerns. You will be a visible, customer-service focused presence who communicates clearly, supports clinical operations, and documents activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, issuing visitor badges, managing sign-in logs, and directing authorized individuals to approved areas.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, and restricted areas through presence and available systems, reporting irregular activity and helping to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, parking areas, and perimeter, documenting observations and reporting hazards, maintenance issues, and policy concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
