Job Description


As a Security Officer - Property Patrol in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and provide outstanding customer service and communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate campus contacts and/or public services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Control access to facilities by monitoring entry points, verifying identification when required, and directing visitors to appropriate destinations in accordance with site policies.
  • Complete reports and logs for incidents, patrol activity, and unusual observations, and communicate relevant information during shift handoff to support continuity of operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR Certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
