As a Security Guard - Flex - Unarmed in Downers Grove, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols as a driving post, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will document observations, support access and visitor screening as needed, and deliver strong customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing initial scene control and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor entry processes, verify identification and/or credentials when required, and direct visitors according to site procedures.
  • Complete patrol and incident documentation, report hazards or maintenance concerns, and communicate key information during shift handoff to support site operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
