As a Security Officer - Armed Bicycle Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to alarms and calls for service, and document observations with clear, professional communication. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to location staff and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify credentials as required, and assist with orderly entry and exit in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifications, and coordination with onsite personnel and local public agencies as directed.
  • Complete reports and logs, document observations and incidents, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and location contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be a graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
  • A Valid Firearms Permit is preferred.
  • A State, County, or City Issued Security License is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
