Job Description


As a Security Officer - High-Rise - Unarmedin Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will be the first point of contact for tenants and visitors, helping manage lobby activity, access requests, and badge verification while monitoring alarms and cameras for security-related concerns. You will document incidents, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver a welcoming customer experience. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and tenants by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities.
  • Operate the front desk concierge area by greeting and directing visitors, issuing visitor passes per site policy, and/or coordinating guest access with building management.
  • Monitor access control systems, alarms, cameras, and/or intercoms from the desk, and report irregular activity through the appropriate chain of communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and escalating as required.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports, including visitor records, key control documentation, package and delivery notifications, and/or incident documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
