Job Description


As a Security Officer - Hospital Admissions Security in Hollywood, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a healthcare location, you will help support a welcoming, controlled environment by conducting routine patrols, monitoring assigned areas, and remaining visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors while providing strong customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Monitor entrances, lobbies, waiting areas, and other assigned areas, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or disruptive activity while directing visitors according to site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, parking areas, and perimeter, noting unusual conditions and completing required reports and notifications.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and policy violations, and assist with access control tasks such as checking identification and/or issuing visitor credentials per site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge, or an associate degree with 60 college credits, or a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
