Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Rover in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to reports and alarms with clear communication. You will document observations, assist staff and visitors with professional customer service, and support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity and a people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying appropriate contacts.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorization for entry, and direct visitors and/or deliveries in accordance with site policies.
  • Complete required reports, logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associates degree with 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
