Job Description


As a Security Officer - Gated Community Checkpoint in Deerfield Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a residential community, you will welcome residents and guests, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and monitor entry points to help reduce security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible, and document and report concerns with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at community entry points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing authorized visitors to the appropriate location.
  • Maintain visitor, vendor, and contractor logs, including documenting entry and exit times and issuing visitor passes as required by site policy.
  • Monitor gates, doors, and other access points for suspicious or unauthorized activity and report concerns to site leadership and/or local authorities as directed.
  • Operate access control systems such as call boxes, credential readers, and key control processes in accordance with post orders.
  • Support orderly vehicle flow at entrances and drop-off areas by providing directions and coordinating with residents and/or property staff during peak traffic periods.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and access disputes per site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around residential common areas and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to identify maintenance and lighting concerns. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Monitor cameras and alarm panels when assigned, identify unusual activity, and communicate observations to the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete reports and logs with accurate, timely details regarding access activity, incidents, and follow-up actions taken per site policy.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 2 or more years of security experience.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
