As a Security Officer Campus Patrol Driver in Commerce, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, with responsibilities that may include access control checks, incident documentation, and clear communication with site leadership. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical situations, and facility-related concerns, and communicate updates to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, entrances, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry and exit points and help manage visitor check-in and/or credential verification in accordance with site-specific policies.
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior, unsecured doors, hazards, and maintenance issues, and escalate concerns through the proper channels.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assist with crowd direction and/or traffic flow during student arrival and dismissal times, events, and special activities as assigned.
  • Support emergency procedures such as fire alarms, severe weather protocols, and evacuation direction as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal.
  • Use communications systems such as radios, phones, and/or electronic reporting tools to coordinate response and provide accurate information.
  • Work in environments and conditions that may vary by location, including indoor and outdoor posts, variable weather, and periods of standing, walking, and stair climbing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
