Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Mobile Patrol in Burgaw, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you will help to deter security-related incidents and provide outstanding customer service within a government location. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to promote a secure environment, and interact professionally with visitors and staff. This role requires carrying a firearm and operating a vehicle as part of your daily responsibilities, allowing you to play a crucial part in supporting a caring, people-first culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor for security-related risks and report any unusual activity or incidents in accordance with company and site protocols.
  • Carry out access control procedures, verifying identification and authorizations as required for entry into restricted areas.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and any security-related concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with local law enforcement or emergency services when needed, following established protocols.
  • Remain alert and observant throughout the shift to help protect people, property, and assets at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Have at least 6 months of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
