Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Screener in New Port Richey, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener, where you will help to deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment in a government location. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry out your duties with professionalism and integrity, while embodying our values of teamwork and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergencies.
  • Screen individuals entering the location to help to deter unauthorized access and to maintain order in accordance with established protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating as necessary based on site guidelines.
  • Monitor and control access points, verifying identification and credentials as required by location policies.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with visitors, staff, and/or law enforcement as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of observations, incidents, and activities during each shift.
  • Remain alert and attentive to surroundings, reporting any unusual or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 2 years of experience in law enforcement, military police, or corrections.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
