Job Description


As a Armed Security Officer - Healthcare Patrol in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, responding promptly to incidents, and providing excellent customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor the premises for unusual activity and report any suspicious circumstances to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and/or any security-related occurrences as required by Allied Universal and the site.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services as needed, following established protocols for armed patrol posts in shelter environments.
  • Operate communication devices and security-related equipment to support patrol and response duties.
  • Assist with access control, verifying identification, and/or managing entry points in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security experience or possess a college degree.
  • Must have an active Texas Armed Security License 
  • Must pass a Physical Fitness Exam (1 mile run - 12 minutes, 22 sit ups and 12 push ups) 
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid are preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
