Job Description


As a Security Officer - Manufacturing Patrol Route in Waterloo, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location. Your presence helps to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including responding appropriately to emergencies when needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the manufacturing and industrial location, including the business premises and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or potential hazards identified during patrols to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and helping to manage visitor and contractor entry as directed by site procedures.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and/or contractors to provide assistance and information as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
