Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control at a Distribution Warehouse in York, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Distribution Centers, and more. As a Security Officer, you'll play a critical role in the overall security program and in the success of day-to-day operations. As first line of defense, you are tasked with making the first impression with guests, customers, and clients. As an extension of the company, the Access Control Security Officer reflects a professional demeanor and appearance to optimally highlight our customer’s brand. The Access Control Security Officer will provide model customer service as well as favorably resolve conflict through solid communication skills. The Access Control Security Officer may have to deal with stressful situations requiring critical thinking abilities to de-escalate unprecedented encounters, understand social cues, and call for assistance when appropriate. Functionally, the Access Control Security Officer must be technically competent, computer literate, able to answer inbound/outbound calls, recognize signs of intrusion, have strong observation skills, and remain calm under pressure. The Access Control Security Officer has the responsibility to maintain proprietary information in confidence and politely, with maximum consideration, enforce security and safety regulations. The position requires administrative support of special events, facility operations, and security functions.

Pay Rate: $18.54 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a distribution warehouse environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with security-related matters as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the distribution warehouse and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Observe and report security-related incidents or suspicious activity to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification, and helping to enforce facility protocols.
  • Support emergency response activities, including assisting with evacuations or other procedures as required by site policies.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and other relevant security-related information.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience preferred. 
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Have 1+ years of Security experience or the equivalent.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
