Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Mall Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a strong presence at a busy retail location. This role requires both armed and driving responsibilities. You will provide exceptional customer service, support access control, and respond promptly to incidents, all while upholding our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, including those requiring an armed response.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols, both inside the retail environment and around the perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior within the retail setting.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and/or any unusual occurrences encountered during patrols.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management, local law enforcement, and/or emergency services when required.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and promptly communicate any concerns or incidents to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Level III Armed Certification for Texas is required.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
