As a Security Officer - Flex Retail Driver in New Hartford, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols throughout a dynamic retail and mall location. Your presence and communication skills will support a welcoming atmosphere while you respond to situations as needed. This is a driving post, so you will operate a vehicle as part of your daily responsibilities, all while delivering outstanding customer service and upholding our core values of integrity and teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately during emergencies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns encountered during patrols within the retail environment.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, and verifying credentials as required.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal team members regarding security-related matters.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and client procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
