Job Description


As a Unarmed Security Officer - Government Site in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide support to those on site. You will interact with the public, assist with inquiries, and deliver exceptional customer service while upholding our values of integrity, teamwork, and innovation. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately during emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the location in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the government facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any security-related irregularities or incidents, documenting findings as required by Allied Universal and the client.
  • Assist with access control measures, verifying identification and/or credentials as needed for entry into restricted areas.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal personnel and/or local authorities when responding to incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned location to help to deter potential disruptions and provide reassurance to employees and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
