Job Description


As a Security Officer - Telecom Patrols in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Professional in a dynamic tech and media environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, requiring you to navigate the location and remain visible to support a secure atmosphere. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and surrounding perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions specific to the tech and media location.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or potential security-related concerns to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and helping to deter unauthorized individuals from restricted areas.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and employees to address inquiries or direct them as needed.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possession of a current guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
