Job Description


As a Security Officer - Chemical Plant Patrol in East Dubuque, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Patrol Officer in a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct regular patrols to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. Your presence and attention to detail will support a welcoming atmosphere while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points in accordance with site requirements.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and other relevant activities.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, contractors, and employees while maintaining a visible presence.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and instructions provided by Allied Universal and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • State, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
