Job Description


As an Armed Security Officer - Mall Patrol in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic retail location, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing outstanding customer service. You will remain highly visible, interact positively with visitors and staff, and respond promptly to any security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and high-value areas to help to deter theft and/or other criminal activity.
  • Interact with visitors, employees, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner, addressing questions and providing assistance as needed.
  • Document incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency responders as required during incidents and emergencies.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any security-related hazards or concerns to management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
