Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrols in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic retail location, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide peace of mind to visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies as directed by Allied Universal, providing customer service to clients and visitors at the location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, taking appropriate action as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall environment and its perimeter to observe and report any unusual activity.
  • Assist with emergency response activities according to site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior by maintaining a visible presence throughout the location.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns or questions.
  • Complete incident reports and document observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and adapt patrol patterns as necessary to support the security-related needs of the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Hold a Level III armed certification for Texas roles only.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
