Job Description


As a Security Guard - Unarmed Building Patrols in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a commercial real estate location, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a visible presence. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, assisting tenants and visitors, and delivering outstanding customer service. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, assisting as needed according to established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the commercial real estate location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify any potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, suspicious activity, or unauthorized individuals on the premises, to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with property management and Allied Universal team members to address security-related matters and maintain a welcoming environment for tenants and guests.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by site protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
