Job Description


As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Shift in Medford, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence in a dynamic retail environment. You will engage with visitors and staff, respond to situations as they arise, and provide exceptional customer service. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license, and offers an opportunity to make a positive impact while upholding our company's values of teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies while assisting customers and staff at the retail location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store and surrounding areas to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe for any unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances and exits to help to deter theft and unauthorized access, and report any suspicious behavior or incidents as required.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as directed, including guiding customers and employees during incidents.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of observations, incidents, and activities while on duty as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Collaborate with store management and law enforcement as needed to report incidents and provide information relevant to security-related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
