Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Salt Lake City, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a chemical and petrochemical location, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, delivering exceptional customer service, and communicating clearly with clients and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including the business premises and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and control entry to restricted areas in accordance with site-specific protocols for chemical and petrochemical environments.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, suspicious behaviors, or hazards encountered during patrols, promptly communicating findings to appropriate personnel.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities, including assisting with evacuations or containment procedures if necessary.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Interact with personnel, visitors, and contractors in a professional and courteous manner while enforcing site policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
