Job Description


As a Security Guard - Armed Facility Patrol in Reno, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to incidents, and interact with visitors and staff to deliver outstanding customer service. Position Type: Full Time

Fully qualified armed applicants are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus!

Pay Rate: $22.66 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual or suspicious behavior, reporting findings according to site protocols.
  • Assist visitors, employees, and/or contractors by providing information and guidance as needed while maintaining a visible presence.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders when required during incidents.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and activities during each shift in accordance with Allied Universal standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate of Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or Equivalent.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
