Job Description


As a Security Officer - Access Control Specialist in Laredo, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal in a logistics and distribution environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and interact with team members and visitors, contributing to a secure environment. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity.
  • Verify identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises, following established site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by addressing inquiries and assisting with directions or information as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response protocols as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and perimeter to observe for security-related concerns or irregularities.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other Allied Universal personnel and site representatives to support overall security-related objectives at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Speak, read, and write fluent Spanish.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
