Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol Officer in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, providing a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to incidents, and engage with the public, all while carrying out your armed responsibilities. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all Allied Universal protocols and procedures while performing armed patrol duties.
  • Support access control procedures by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points as required.
  • Complete detailed incident and daily activity reports in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders as needed during incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security-related supervisor or manager experience or 3 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Possess a college degree.
  • Possess a corrections officer license.
  • Provide a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associate degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
