Job Description


As a Security Officer - Residential Patrol Specialist in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol residential locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment. Your presence will help create peace of mind for residents and visitors while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents and guests by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding appropriately to emergencies when needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the residential location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential premises and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, guests, and property management regarding security-related matters.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal policies and client requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities and emergency responders as directed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the residential location to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to residents and guests.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
