As a Security Officer - Armed Site Patrol in Queens, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with the public, and provide outstanding customer service while upholding the highest standards of integrity and teamwork. This armed position offers a dynamic environment where you play a key role in helping to create a secure atmosphere for everyone on site.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using sound judgment while armed as required by the post profile.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential threats.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide assistance to employees, visitors, and/or the public as needed.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification credentials to help to control entry and exit at the location.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding security-related incidents, observations, and/or activities during each shift.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary, following established protocols.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to evolving situations, adapting to the unique requirements of a government environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
  • Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
