Job Description


As a Security Officer - Healthcare Access Desk in Hawthorne, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Professional assigned to an access control post in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service. Your presence will help maintain a secure environment for all staff, visitors, and patients. This is a driving position, so a valid driver's license is required. Pay Rate: $22.64 - $23.64 / Hour

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering and exiting the premises.
  • Assist visitors, staff, and contractors by providing information and directions while maintaining security-related protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or security-related incidents.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and protocols.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities as required by site-specific policies.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management and local emergency services during emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Follow all site-specific policies and procedures to support a secure environment within the healthcare setting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
