Job Description


As a Security Officer - School Hallway Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas within an educational location, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas as required by site procedures.
  • Support campus events and activities by providing a visible security-related presence and assisting with crowd management as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with campus staff and local authorities when required to address incidents and provide information.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations for Allied Universal and/or client records.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
