You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to the public, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or access.
  • Monitor for unusual activity or conditions that may impact the utilities environment and report findings as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
  • Operate assigned communication devices to stay in contact with Allied Universal management and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
  • Follow protocols for handling and/or escalating incidents related to access control, property disturbances, and emergencies specific to a utilities location.
  • Carry and maintain proficiency with assigned firearms and adhere to all company and regulatory guidelines regarding armed posts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
