Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Utilities Facility in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol utility locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. Your role includes conducting routine patrols, managing access control, and providing outstanding customer service to all visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the utility facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas of the location to help to deter potential threats and support the well-being of personnel and property.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site personnel to address security-related concerns and support ongoing operations.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required by site procedures.
  • Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies while carrying out armed security-related duties.
  • Assist with access control procedures to help to deter unauthorized entry and support the orderly flow of personnel and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Have access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Have customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
