Job Description


As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol CRE in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a commercial real estate location, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will interact with visitors and tenants, offering exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including the business areas and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activities or conditions to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide a sense of security-related support to those at the location.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials as needed, and addressing unauthorized access attempts.
  • Complete required logs, reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner as directed by Allied Universal policies and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
