As a Security Officer - Government Building Patrol in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a government location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting regular patrols and maintaining a strong presence throughout the property. You will engage with visitors and staff, provide outstanding customer service, and support access control measures. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned location and its perimeter to help to deter potential issues and observe for unusual activity.
  • Monitor and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or irregularities in accordance with Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Communicate with supervisors, team members, and/or local authorities as needed to address incidents or concerns within the government facility.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly as part of daily responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
