Job Description


As a Security Officer – Hospital Unarmed Response in Monroeville, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas to help to deter security-related incidents and support a welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and provide outstanding customer service while assisting with access control and responding to unique healthcare needs. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential threats.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible security-related presence.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related concerns, or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as needed, including guiding individuals during evacuations or lockdowns.
  • Maintain accurate and timely logs and reports of security-related incidents and activities as required by site procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with site staff and Allied Universal team members to promote a secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Vaccinations are required for work in hospital settings.
  • Work may involve duties in the hospital morgue.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
