Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Operations in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using appropriate judgement in a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the assigned government property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor and report on any unusual or suspicious activity, escalating issues according to established protocols.
  • Interact professionally with the public, employees, and visitors while maintaining a visible presence to help to deter potential incidents.
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal and site management regarding security-related tasks and emergency response protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and timely logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and the site.
  • Operate communication devices and other technology as needed to support security-related operations in the government environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or possess a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
