Job Description


As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Government Site in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and maintaining a visible presence at a government location. This position involves driving and carrying a firearm as part of your daily responsibilities. You will deliver outstanding customer service and communication, demonstrating our values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity while helping to create a secure environment for all.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing training and judgment to address each situation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the assigned government location and its perimeter, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Maintain awareness of the surroundings and report any suspicious behavior or potential threats to the appropriate authorities and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Assist with access control by verifying identification and authorizations as required by site protocols.
  • Prepare written reports and documentation related to incidents, observations, and activities during shifts.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Support a secure environment by monitoring entrances, exits, and other critical areas at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • This is primarily a driving post, which is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
