As a Security Officer - Mall Patrol Specialist in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned retail locations, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. You will conduct routine patrols, interact with visitors and staff, and deliver outstanding customer service while supporting a secure environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide excellent customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner to support a positive environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff.
• Observe and report any suspicious activities, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with store management and Allied Universal team members to address security-related concerns in a timely manner.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential disturbances and provide reassurance to customers and staff.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials as required, and/or addressing unauthorized entry.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, patrols, and other security-related activities as directed by Allied Universal protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Having a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
